The Winnipeg Jets had an offensive outburst Friday, matching a season high for goals as Bryan Little recorded the franchises first hat trick in almost four years in a 6-2 victory over Colorado. Now theyll turn their sights to the Anaheim Ducks, who are minus former Hart Trophy-winner Corey Perry. Viewers in Jets region can watch the Jets vs. Ducks live on TSN3 today at 2pm ct. The game can also be heard live on TSN Radio 1290 Winnipeg starting at 1pm ct. With the way that were starting to play now, its kind of defense-first, and we kind of understand that some of the guys might not be scoring as much or might not be getting as many points, said Little, whose other hat trick came Dec. 26, 2008. Nights like (Friday) are good for the confidence and good for the team. Little, who added an assist, has scored six of his team-leading 11 goals over the last six contests. He has seven points in seven games versus Anaheim. If the Ducks are to continue their December success, they might need to do so without their top goal scorer for the time being. Its uncertain if Corey Perry will be on the ice when the visiting Ducks try for a fourth straight victory Sunday against the surging Jets. Despite blowing a 3-0 lead, Anaheim rallied to improve to 3-0-0 this month with a 5-4 victory at Minnesota on Friday. The Ducks (17-6-5), however, lost Perry midway through the first period after he was flipped in the air by a low hit from Wild defenseman Keith Ballard. Perry was unable to put weight on his left leg and needed help leaving the ice. It is a lower-body injury, coach Bruce Boudreau said. It is what it is and well just re-adjust. Boudreau said Perry will make the trip to Winnipeg, where he will be further evaluated. The Western Conference-leading Ducks went 1-0-4 last month when the mumps sidelined Perry, who leads the club with 14 goals and is second with 22 points. Weve been without him before already this season and we have the depth in the organization to fill those roles, captain Ryan Getzlaf told the NHLs official website. Its not one (person) that is going to fill Perrys void. Hes a goal scorer on our team and he does a lot of good things for us. Well have to collectively do it. Getzlaf has been doing his part with two goals and four assists over the past four games, and so has winger Matt Beleskey. He increased his career-high goal total to 13 when he broke a 4-all tie 8:28 into the third period Friday. Hes been working hard and doing the right things, Getzlaf said of Beleskey, who has six goals in the last nine games. Hes always had a great shot, but this year he seems to be having a knack for finding the right areas at the right times and hes scoring goals for us. While Perrys injury is of obvious concern, on the ice the Ducks need to tighten things up after giving up at least four goals for the fourth time in five contests. Their last four opponents are 5 for 14 on the power play after the previous 15 went 5 for 48. Frederik Andersen, who made 21 saves Friday, has been in net for all three wins this month but owns a 4.26 goals-against average in his last four starts. His only start against Winnipeg came in the teams last meeting, stopping 33 shots in a 5-4 overtime victory March 31 in Anaheim. The Ducks took two of three last season from the Jets (14-9-4), who are in the midst of a 4-0-1 stretch with nine goals allowed. The young right-hander had quite the answer and helped keep an impressive road pitching streak going for the Tampa Bay Rays. Odorizzi retired the final 10 hitters after allowing a home run, Evan Longoria homered and drove in three runs and the Rays beat the Texas Rangers 6-3 Thursday night. "The guys confident," manager Joe Maddon said of his 24-year-old pitcher. "Hes swaggering out to the mound, and swaggering back in. The whole group is confident. Theyre not braggish about it, just businesslike in a confident way." And they have the numbers to back it up, with Odorizzi striking out seven in seven innings to help give the Rays their AL-record 18th consecutive road game without allowing more than three runs. Odorizzi (9-9) was the starter the last time Tampa Bay gave up more than three runs -- the last home game before the 10-game trip that just ended with the Rays taking three of four from the Rangers. He gave up five runs in a 7-5 loss to the Los Angeles Angels on Aug. 3. Following up six shutout innings in a win at the Chicago Cubs, Odorizzi didnt allow another baserunner after Geovany Sotos first homer of the season to pull the Rangers within 4-2. "Ive been growing a lot since the first part of the season," Odorizzi said. "I found out a lot about myself." Jake McGee pitched a perfect ninth for his 13th save in 14 chances, getting the Rays within three games of the major league record for consecutive road games with three runs or fewer allowed held by the 1908 Cubs. Robbie Ross (2-5) came up from Triple-A Round Rock to fill in for Texas ace Yu Darvish, who is sidelined with elbow inflammation. The left-hander gave up six runs in 4 1-3 innings. Ross started the season in the Texas rotation after spending two years as a reliever. He struck out the side in the first but then looked a lot like the pitcher who was sent back to the bullpen in May not long after giving up 30 runs -- 233 earned -- in 26 2-3 innings over five starts.dddddddddddd. "I just started maybe being a little too fine and trying to pick around the zone instead of just going right at them like I was in the beginning," Ross said. THE TWO-RUN BLOWS Longorias team-leading 15th homer was a two-run shot that gave the Rays a 6-2 lead in the fifth. Logan Forsythe matched a career high with three hits and put the Rays in front to stay with his two-run homer in the second. It came on an 0-2 pitch after Yunel Escobar reached with two outs on an infield hit when third baseman Adrian Beltre barehanded the slow roller but threw wide to first. EFFICIENT RAYS Tampa Bay followed Forsythes go-ahead homer with an efficient third inning that gave the Rays a 4-0 lead. Brandon Guyer stole second with two outs after an earlier single and came home when Longoria hit a soft liner over Elvis Andrus head into left-centre field. After moving up on a wild pitch, Longoria scored on a single by James Loney. TRAINERS ROOM Rays: CF Desmond Jennings (shoulder) wasnt in the lineup for the second game after running into the wall Tuesday. ... RF Wil Myers (fractured right wrist) could return from a rehab assignment at Triple-A Durham during next weeks series against Detroit. Rangers: An MRI showed that Darvishs elbow inflammation is not a long-term concern, but theres no timetable for his return. He will miss at least two starts and will resume throwing when the tightness eases. UP NEXT Rays: Tampa Bay goes home to face the New York Yankees in the first of 32 consecutive games against teams currently in playoff contention. RHP Alex Cobb (7-6, 3.41) goes for his sixth straight win, opposing Yankees RHP Brandon McCarthy (4-1, 2.21 with New York). Rangers: RHP Nick Martinez (2-8, 5.22) opens a weekend series against the Los Angeles Angels after snapping a 10-start winless streak by beating Houston his last time out.
